The Blackstone Association logo features three distinct dots, representing the core components of Canada’s Tier 1 Special Operations community. The strength of our Warriors lies in the seamless integration of these three groups. Together, they form a cohesive force capable of operating in the most non-permissive environments on Earth.

Assaulters

The first dot represents the Special Operations Assaulters Veterans – the primary “Operators” of Canada's elite Special Operations Forces and the nation's leading Kinetic, Covert, and Clandestine force. They execute Canada’s most high value, and sensitive missions.

The Role

Assaulters are experts in kinetic, covert, and clandestine operations, trained to rapidly assess and act decisively under pressure. Their knowledge, skill, and operational experience drive mission success.

The Importance

They maintain the highest operational readiness, ready to deploy on extreme short notice. They execute kinetic, covert, and clandestine operations worldwide with precision, minimizing collateral effects, and can operate autonomously or as a tightly integrated team to accomplish the mission.

The Profile

Selection as an Assaulter demands exceptional fitness, cognitive ability, emotional intelligence, and the resilience to adapt under pressure — all grounded in humility, integrity, accountability, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence.

Specialists

The second dot represents the Specialists. Mission success requires a wide-ranging set of technical "enabling" capabilities, ensuring the Assaulters have the tools and intelligence needed to prevail

The Role

Experts who provide high-tech and high-stakes support in the field.

Core Disciplines

Including SOF Signallers (tactical communicators), explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), Intelligence (real-time battlefield analysis), and SOF Medics (trauma care under fire).

The Profile

Subject-matter experts who undergo a specialized selection process to ensure they can maintain the pace and handle the stress of high-intensity operations alongside the Assaulters.

Supporters

The third dot represents the Supporters, dedicated Professionals, who stand together with Canada's Tier 1 Special Operations Forces (SOF) community. Their expertise and relentless commitment contribute to the
crucial proficiencies and capabilities for elite performance and Mission
Success within our Tier 1 SOF community.

The Role

Managing critical infrastructure, including logistics, Administration, human Resources, and mechanical maintenance.

The Importance

This team ensures that specialized vehicles, weapons, and equipment are mission-Ready 24/7. They navigate the complex legal and administrative hurdles required for rapid international deployments.

The Profile

Highly proficient members of the CAF who possess a unique mindset and a high degree of adaptability to thrive in the SOF environment

Who We Serve
